CIVIL FAX FILING
FILING A CIVIL ACTION OR OTHER DOCUMENTS BY FAX
The Clerk's Office accepts filings through facsimile means. The fax filing numbers are as follows:First City Court Fax Filing number: 504-592-9281
Second City Court Fax Filing number: 504-366-2970
In accordance with L.R.S 13:850, within seven (7) days, exclusive of legal holidays, after the clerk of court receives the facsimile filing, all of the following shall be delivered to the clerk of court:
(1) The original signed document identical to the facsimile filing in number of pages and in content of each page including any attachments, exhibits, and orders. A document not identical to the facsimile filing or which includes pages not included in the facsimile filing shall not be considered the original document.
(2) The applicable filing fee must be enclosed with the original. The filing fee includes, the fees for the facsimile filing and filing of the original document stated on the Clerk of Court's confirmation of receipt, if any.
(3) An additional $5 transmission fee must be enclosed with each original document transmitted.
If you fail to comply with any of the above requirements, the facsimile filing shall have no force or effect.——————————————————————

INTERPRETER/LANGUAGE SERVICES
To arrange for an interpreter in advance, an attorney or self-represented litigant can utilize the court’s Request for Interpreter Order form Civil District Court Request for Interpreter and Order and submit it to the Section/Division where the case is being heard. Please note, this request should be submitted to the Court at least 10 business days in advance of the scheduled proceeding, or as soon as the proceeding is placed on the court calendar, whichever occurs first. Counsel is responsible for submitting the request form for their LEP clients or witnesses.
Under federal law and state policy, you are entitled to language assistance including an interpreter or translation services if you cannot speak or understand English. For additional information about the Court’s language assistance service, please visit the Interpreter/Language Services page.
